Faith Is Action: March 2010
The Bible Doctrine of Hope
By R.G. Hardy

HOPE is the anchor of the soul that makes a believer's faith in God's promises unsinkable. Far from the anemic idea of "I wish," that is generally meant by our modern definition, Biblically-based hope is actually the second stage of believing faith. It is so rich that the rapture of the Church is called the Blessed Hope, and every believer knows this is not a wish or an uncertain expectation!

HOPE is built upon the foundation of faith, as faith is built upon the foundation of God's Word. After you have believed the Word, you must then confidently, patiently, wait for it with total assurance of its fulfillment. This is where hope takes over!

Drawing from the life of Abraham, who against hope, believed in hop and from his own life, Brother Hardy inspires us to abound in hope, that we too can endure even when all seems hopeless.
